Cosmetics

A cosmetic product is any substance or mixture which is intended for the contact with the external parts of the human body (skin, hair and scalp, nails, lips and external genital organs) or with teeth and the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, exclusively or primarily for their purification, fragrancing and/or protecting and maintaining their good condition, changing of their appearance and/or correcting of body odors.

Cosmetic products need to comply with the requirements prescribed by the Regulation no. 1223/2009  on cosmetic products, which prescribes that for all cosmetic products a Cosmetic Product Safety Report must be created. The Report consists of data about the safety of cosmetic products (data on the product composition, physicochemical data, microbiological purity, evaluation of microbiological stability, toxicology profile etc.) and the Safety assessment.

In our laboratory, we perform:

–        organoleptic tests,

–        microbiological tests,

–        Challenge test,

–        tests on pH value,

–        inspection of the declaration,

–        tests on metals and non-metals

–        tests on parabens  

Cosmetic products must be registered on the “Cosmetics Products Notification Portal” for the application of cosmetic products that are launched on the EU market or CPNP Portal.
